Mots-clésPandémie – Covid-19 – État d’urgence sanitaire – Connaissances médicales – Médicament – Autorisation de mise sur le marché – AMM – Hors AMM – Prescription de médicamentsAbstract A global pandemic has broken out from an initial source located in China at the end of 2019 due to a coronavirus responsible for an infectious disease called covid-19. By law, a state of health emergency has been declared in France on March 23, 2020 and a decree has limited the prescription without authorization of marketing offer for three drugs. These three drugs are being evaluated through numerous clinical tests to find out whether there is a risk-benefit balance favorable to their prescription to patients infected or suspected of having developed covid-19. More often than not, medical knowledge reaches doctors more quickly than the health authorities, who might be less responsive to changing laws or regulations administratively authorizing the prescription of a drug. Prescribing a drug to a patient will always remain licit on the strict condition that this prescription be supported by acquired or proven medical knowledge establishing a benefit - risk balance useful to a patient at the time of the health care proposal.KeywordsPandemic – Covid-19 – State of health emergency – Medical knowledge – Medicine – Drug – Marketing Authorization – Non-Marketing Authorization – Prescription of drugs – Off Label Use – Unlabelled Indications PP - Bordeaux ID - bnds-10260 L2 - https://www.bnds.fr/edition-numerique/revue/rgdm/rgdm-76/la-liberte-de-prescription-d-un-medicament-en-temps-d-urgence-sanitaire-10260.html SN - SP - 175 EP - 192
