AB  - RésuméL’asile Elizabeth-Arkham pour les malades mentaux criminels constitue une figure emblématique de l’univers de Gotham City dans les comics Batman. Sa visite virtuelle par un juriste permet de mettre l’accent sur certains points saillants du droit hospitalier, certes en l’occurrence celui des établissements plutôt privés que publics. Par sa proximité avec l’univers carcéral, la sphère asilaire en partage les problématiques tenant au respect des droits et libertés des individus, de leur dignité. Ce pouvoir et cette contribution à l’oeuvre collective de santé publique justifient le contrôle, par l’État notamment, de ces lieux de soin si particuliers.
