Quelques mois plus tard, la loi du 31 décembre 1985 précisa les modalités d’application de cette réforme et en consolida les fondements juridiques. Son adoption, au terme d’une navette parlementaire entre l’Assemblée nationale et le Sénat, révéla des tensions politiques : droite et centre prudents, parti communiste opposé. Malgré ces divergences, la réforme assura la reconnaissance officielle et durable d’une psychiatrie de secteur conciliant exigences médicales, sociales et institutionnelles.Abstract: In 1985, the law of July 25 legally established psychiatric sectorisation in France, incorporating into statutory law an organisation that had previously been governed by regulatory texts. À few months later, the law of 31 December 1985 specified the implementation procedures of this reform and consolidated its legal foundations. Further to a parliamentary shuttle between the National Assembly and the Senate, its adoption revealed political tensions: the right and center remained cautious, while the Communist Party opposed the bill.
